Ok, I honestly didn’t know what to call this recipe but a friend referred to it as sate sauce so I’ll roll with that for now!
Also, as with most of my recipes, I don’t exactly measure. I just compile a bunch of ingredients that I think would go well together and then release my inner Alchemist. I’ve listed the ingredients I’ve used and a guesstimate of how much, but please do play around with the ingredients. It’s hard to mess up, promise!
Raw Sate Sauce
* 6 Tbsp tahin
* 6 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
* 1/4 cup hemp milk (hemp seeds blended with water)
* 2 Tbsp soy sauce/liquid aminos/nama shoyu/tamari
* 3 Tbsp maple syrup/agave/raw honey/a combintaion hereof
* 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
* 2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
Blend all ingredients together. Store in an airtight container in the fridge, keeps for about a week!
I especially like this sauce over cucumber noodles (see photo) but it goes well with tons of things; as a salad dressing, on rice cakes, as a dip for raw veggies…. nom!
Lunch the other day; cucumber noodles with raw sate sauce, a bunch of sprouts, sauerkraut, raw bell pepper with mango-coconut dressing, rucola salad with tomato, quinoa & sprouted legumes
Try this recipe, let me know what you think, and if you can come up with a better name… let me hear it!
