It is said we have three main rhythms in the body: the heart beat, brain waves and the breath.
If we can control but one, we can control all three.
Seeing as how our breath is the only major rhythm we have any control over, you can see how important it is to be aware of our breath and the impact it has on our heart beat and brain waves.
Through mindful breathing and breathing exercises, Pranayama, we can invigorate ourselves, help our bodies detox, and relax.
Our lungs are one of the bodies major detox pathways (like the colon, skin, etc). When our bodies are very toxis we start to breathe faster and more shallow. Conversely, when we never breathe deeply and slowly, aka properly, and most of us don’t, we don;t help our body detox in a very simple, mild and daily manner.
Deep breathing also provides us with oxygen to battle fatigue and brain fog. Now you know what yawning is all about, it’s your brain screaming for fresh energy. Breath deep and strongly for an instant energy boost.
We can also help ourselves relax in stressful situations or simple at night time by breathing deeply, very slowly and controlled, pausing at the end of every breath in and every breath out.
Focusing on solely the breath is also a great technique for meditation.
Stay tuned for 3 workshop announcements tomorrow!

yes I do agree with with you points that if we have control over our breath we could control other rhythms… Nice thought I must say….

I guess I really have to look up on Pranayama. It seems that I can benefit a lot from it.
This is really something that I have to work on. It may be hard at first, but I know that I will reap a lot of benefits later.
