Heya guys!
About a month ago I casually asked on my facebook fan page who would be interested in a raw vegan potluck. Turns out, a lot of people were! That’s how my first monthly raw vegan potluck came about last night and a new tradition was born.
Here are some impressions of our fun, relaxed and unforgettable evening.
My pumpkin-curry-coconut soup made an appearance!
Zucchini Pasta! (Here, sans omega-3 pesto, olives, tomatoes & pine nuts)
Maaike‘s Humongous hummus platter & chocolate-carob shots provided by Bambos

Hummus, crackers & dates to snack on from Jessica (by the end of the evening we had no less than FOUR types of hummus, and enough leftovers to get me through the week. Nom)

Guusje made a fantabulous raw vegan mini raspberry cheesecake (say that three times fast) that was, and I quote, “an orgasm in [my] mouth”. Word.

Joy made sugarfree vegan carrot cake muffins with a killer frosting. Side note: there is not a one muffin left as I type this…
Hummus #4 in the background made by Kelly, accompanied by a broccoli-cashew salad that was scrumptious!

Party platters! Party in your mouth: raw beet ravioli with a crunchy nut mixture filling and home-grown sprouts made by Hendrikje!
(Now I seriously want to get back into making my own sprouts. Tastes so much better than store-bought!)
Zhanna made quite the impression by bringing over spicy chocolate brownies! Yup, these babies were spiked with chipotle pepper! Oh my heavens this was a whole new taste experience for me, outta this world good! Here is the recipe!
She also surprised me with a ‘little’ gift…

U huge bag of Irish Moss for me to play with!!!! Super duper awesome Zhanna and I’ll see you Monday @ Bikram! <3
Adorable mini pineapples brought by Izabela!
Just arrived in the nick of time: raw vegan breakfast muffins by Silvia!

Leftovers for breakfast! Vegan pesto by Alisa
Morning after…
To…
That’s the beauty of a party with wholesome raw foods + no alcohol. Waking up fresh and bright after 6 hours of sleep, jumping out of bed to clean up the mess!
I can’t believe how much fun this was. Everyone was minglin’ away and I received a lot of happy emails and texts this morning saying how they are still glowing after all that yummy food and happy with the new connections they made (phone numbers email addresses and facebook pages were exchanged everywhere). New Bikram buddies were made, tattoos were compared and shared, and homemade t-shirts by my friend Izabela were eye-balled.. Isa (who behaved uncharacteristically well….) was very populair (‘where is your famous cat?!’ ‘omg it’s ISA!’ haha) and for a change she liked the crowd I had over (cats are very sensitive to energy, hmmm). I received a lot of compliments about my apartment, people helped mopping the kitchen floors when they got messy and when I was getting a little tired playing hostess, a few went ahead, raided my kitchen and made us all tea. At 2:30 am the last guests departed (not voluntarily, ha) and Isa and I hopped into bed (yes I am a crazy cat lady)!
Bliss!
To everyone who participated and made this potluck a hit, thank you so much!
Next potluck will be held in the second week of March, follow me on facebook to stay updated!

I had an amazing time, thank you so much for making this evening happen! Already looking forward to your next potluck!
(also, I’ll share my muffins and, more importantly, my frosting recipe on my blog sometime soon
)

Ahhhhhh, this salad looks so lush, as does the vegan cheesecake, wow! And ive been wanting to try irish moss for ages – is it the same kind of thing as wakame and kombu? Im always adding seaweed into my salads!

Looks like a blast! I’ve heard about irish moss, but have yet to dabble in it. Let me know what you end up doing. I’m a bit of a crazy cat lady myself, I have 3!
