Hey guys!
So, anyone tried the raw vegan cupcakes yet?? I’ve almost depleted my stash…
I think this post qualifies as the last one in the series of Big Announcements I had to make
. Fasten your seat belts ladies and gents!
Thefruitpursuit is going Global!
Holland has always felt a little too small for me. Though I am crazy in love with Amsterdam, I’ve been plotting my great escape for some time now. I would love to explore the world more and learn from different cultures and people from all walks of life. I’d love to live somewhere thats more open-minded towards holistic health and nutrition (California?). And last but not least, I’d give up a kidney to live somewhere with a better climate. I have tried you guys but I think it’s time for me to admit defeat; I don’t do well with too many grey skies rainy days and and manouvering my small bike with a pink basket through treacherous blasts of wind and cold. Now that I am no longer restricted to a week here and there off of school it is time for me to oblige to my wanderlust!
The Land Down Undah
That’s right mate, all of next month (November) I will be in Australia, the land of the kangaroo and Nicole Kidman
! A very special and wonderful person invited me out to here and it was wonderful to see how the Universe made this happen. Or how I like to say; when life throws you a bone, fetch!
Chris (said special and wonderful person) and I will be emerging ourselves in a lot of cool stuff. He is going to guide me with meditation and Ayurveda, and I will show him the ins and outs of veganism and the awesomeness that is raw foods. Also, lots and lots of yoga (I need to try and convert him to Bikram…;)).
While there we are also meeting up with the infamous and sexy raw food guru Philip McClusky who is doing his Sexy on Raw tour!
I will of course keep you guys posted on our adventures in Sydney (and Melbourne)!
Raw Food Training in Ubud, Bali
I am over the top stoked for this and so excited I can finally tell you all about it. The Pure Joy Culinary Academy hosts Raw Food trainings in Asia and South America multiple times per year and I had set my mind on going to one of them after seeing one of my fellow raw foodies journaling her stay last month in Thailand.
The 3 week intensive course (daily from 9-6) teaches you all the ins and outs of raw food prep, both basic and gourmet. Furthermore it trains you to be able to give your own raw food classes and workshops for which you also get certified after passing written and practical exams for this. How awesome to be certified in the art of raw food! It is my dream to give workshops, classes and trainings which is why I would love a proper education in this.
Here are some photos of the training:

Juice Party in South America
Later next year Saar and I still have our amazing 30 day juice feast planned! I originally wanted to do this in South America but since Saar was just planning staying in/revisiting Asia we decided Asia would be great too. Due to circumstances (love, geography…) we’re back on South America. Which is so great, since now I get to experience both!
I hope with this juice feast to learn a lot about myself, about fasting and detoxing (to coach others with this as well), and to just have a great time in SA.
What About California?
Don’t worry I am not forgetting about my beloved Cali! In fact, after Bali there is another top-notch training I want to add to my resume and it’s in Fort Bragg, California. That would of course be the world famous Living Light Culinary Arts Institute! The course I am particularly interested in is a 10 day Raw Food Nutrition training which is all science-based and very in-depth. Topics such as anti-aging and longevity, understanding human digestion absorption and assimilation of nutrients, organically grown produce – a scientific perspective, comparison and contrast of different approaches to raw food nutrition – low fat raw vs higher fat raw – the importance of greens, raw food exaggerations and raw food facts, and menu planning for various health challenges: Blood sugar challenges, elevated cholesterol, autoimmune challenges, elevated blood pressure, weight control challenges, fatigue, digestive challenges are all discussed thoroughly. The last few days is a certification program in which you will get certified to teach about raw food nutrition. I’d love to able to make my workshops and classes both informative and hands-on!
Do you know of any other cool raw food trainings? Have you ever participated in one?
And what’s the collest place on Earth you’ve ever visited?
Love,
Sabine

Wow, this all sounds awesome Sabine, good for you! Just out of curiousity: how are you going to pay for all this? Sounds very expensive to me..
I might need to stop reading your blog due to me being jealous. Jk. Love it! My favourite place in the world is Sydney and I def wanna go back to live there for at least two years. I lived there for 8 months and that was way too short
hi girl!
OMG this is sooooooooo cool!!! I hope you continue blogging because this seems sooo interesting to read about!! I’m sure you will have the best time ever!
I hevan’t made the cupcakes yet, I’m still lacking some of the ingredients but will make them asap..
Do you have an idea of the kcal content per cupcake? It doesn’t have to be exact, just an estimation is fine
Wow, chasing your dreams, and visiting these wonderful places while also learning a great deal! I’m envious!
This is so great! Very exciting
Durian Rider (Raw Vegan Mentor) is from Australia, maybe you can check them up.
I want to go to the Fasting and Feasting in Costa Rica together with an Acro Health and Fitness Week http://foodnsport.com/events.php Sadly it takes a lot of time and money. I would like to experience a 21 fasting with good supervision in the Benelux.
Wow that all sounds so amazing
I can’t wait for your blogs about these experiences.
How very cool for you! Sounds like a dream come true. I would love to do the same someday. I hope you will blog about the experiences and share many recipes with us all. I made the vegan cupcakes yesterday and WOW! they are fabulous! It was fun making them too. Getting creative with the icing decorations. My husband loved them too. The texture of cake was just like a regular cupcake but without all the crap. LOVE IT! I’ve been reading your blog just for a short time (2 weeks) and really like it.
Hey Sabine!
Great to read you are heading down under first, I get a feeling you will fall in love with Australia and Sydney (it’s one of my favourite places) I live in New Zealand so if you feel like heading a little further down under; it would be awesome to catch up:-D
This all sounds soooooo amazing!! Wish I could come and join you
I can’t wait to read about your travels and your exciting year ahead.
Hi Sabine! I’ve been reading your blog for a while and thought I’d comment
x
What you’ve got in store sounds so amazing! I live in Australia (Perth) and looove Sydney. Bali is really close to Perth so I’ve been there lots… so many healthy cafes and such beautiful fruit! Congrats on deciding to take a year off! I’m also studying nutrition and my course sounds rather similar to yours- VERY mainstream/conventional… but it’s a well recognised university and I want to be an RD so will have to keep soldiering on, listening to them promote low fat artificially sweetened yogurt and the such. So tiring! I look forward to hearing about your adventures over the next year
The foods really looks so great especially the Chocolate Chai Cheesecake.. Hoe did you make it? Love to see the recipes. Keep posting some more! Be back soon..
Definitely come visit me in Melbourne… I would love to become a Bikram convert!!
You should try Florida
The weather here is so nice (bipolar but nice)
ooohhh can’t explain how happy i am to see this post! yummy delicious fooooods!
