I made this almost right after you posted it and it. was. amazing! Most chocolate oats recipes I see call for chocolate (soy)milk, which I despice, so I really liked your alternative!
I’ll try this with banana, I don’t have coconut butter but the thought of topping these chocolate oats with sliced banana & shredded dried coconut sounds devine. Is the apple sauce very necessary? What purpose does it have in the oats?
Hey Jaimy, I don’t think it is of utmost important, but it provides some creaminess. You can also add half a thinly sliced banana in the oats while cooking for creaminess, or, if you eat them, two eggwhites! Let me know how they turned out!
I love how you help the Dutch get a taste of some forgein culture. All we eat here is bread and potatoes and slabs of meat and white pasta and rice, I sometimes think. I was in America for a few months in the summer and yes, you can go very wrong with the food there, but most of it is better than in Holland, you just need to pick right. Over here we don’t ever do anything fun or fancy with our food, like your gorgeous chocolate oat bowl, topped with coconutbutter no less.

Maarrr ik ga a.s. zaterdag richting Amsterdam zuid, en ik had eigenlijk de intentie langs de Bolhoed te gaan. Als ik die gerookte kruiden zie, zal ik anders een pakje voor je voorschieten, of ga je liever zelf eens die richting op? Ik hoor het wel!
Je foodie ziet er trouwens weer erg appetijtelijk uit
