Our baby is soooooo happy in her new house! She hasn’t stopped purring since we brought her home from the pound, which is over three hours ago, haha.
I feel we really made the right decision going for Isa,apparently she was the oldest cat inhabitant in the pound, even though she’s so young and adorable looking. The staff told us it was because she’s a feisty lady with mood swings, and will put her claws in you if you do something she doesn’t feel like. I assured them we could handle a ‘difficult’ cat and even appreciate a challenge. I really do, I love when an animals personality shines through, whatever that personality may be. I have a feeling Isa is a quirky one, with moods like many women
, and I really look forward to seeing how things go. As I said, so far she’s the happiest and most grateful kitty I’ve ever come across, purring and spinning and headbumping us all the time. When we put her in the basket, in the car, or let her out in the big house, she didn’t look scared or apprehensive for a moment, only happy and relieved.
Meet Isa:
It’s very hard to take pictures of her, she’s that energetic! She keeps frolicking around haha!
Climbing in her huge play-tree-scratch-pole-thing-y*
Headbumping the pole, because, you know, it’s so darn sweet!
I also took some photos in the pound, but it was a heart breaking sight seeing all those super amazing animals discarded by their owners. I was ready to take ‘em all home.
Looking at me with such sad eyes…
I love big, rugged, strong dogs
Another very affectioned kitty that was looking for new parents…
This one tried to open the door haha! Rascal..
Lovebirds <3
* I send a picture of this monster to Esmar so he won’t be too shocked when he sees the plaything I got Isa, which is muuchhhh smaller (but still bigass
).
If all these pictures made you all soft and weak inside, why not adopt a furry companion of your own? You can also ‘adopt’ a pet from a distance, meaning a monetary compensation for the animal of your choice from the pound!
And please, whenever you decide to adopt a pet, always get one from the pound! Never from a breeder, ever. Every year millions of animals, mostly cats and dogs, get slaughtered for no reason other than having no home! It’s sick and disgusting and most of all very disturbing, since there are SO many amazing animals just sitting at the pound, waiting for a loving owner so they can start a new life.
Love,
Sabine

Meis wat een schatje ik kom snel kijken!
When we got our cats, they weren’t from a pound, but I swear they would have been much better off if they had of been in one. The cats were neglected and so badly infested with fleas that they had anemia. Our male cat, Akira, was the worst, and we believe he still has health problems because of them. Mika, our female, she wasn’t as bad, but we are starting to notice now (almost 3 years later) that she must have suffered a lot as well, as she has health problems too. Nothing too serious (yet), but still enough to know they weren’t taken care of during their first 3ish months of life (the place was disgusting too!). Even though we didn’t get them from the pound, I’m still glad we made our choice. I’m just sad because we only took two of their cats. And for the record, I definitely believe in spaying and neutering your pets, especially cats, and ours were fixed as soon as they were old enough
Isa is beautiful, I hope you enjoy her for a loooong time (the little coloured spot under her chin is adorable!). I would really love that reddish coloured dog (kinda looks like a pitbull?). I won’t get a dog until we have enough room for one though. It’s not fair for a dog (especially a big one) to not have any yard to run around in.
